An actual letter sent to Congressman Boyle of PA 13.
Tragically Houston Texas and many surrounding counties have experienced disastrous flooding. The current death toll is at 17 and is climbing. There has been significant damage and destruction of homes and businesses as well.
The Governor of Texas, Mr. Abbott, has deployed the Texas National Guard to 'monitor' Jade Helm 15, a US military exercise. Abbott either fears that the exercises are the harbinger of a US federal government take over of Texas, or are clear evidence of Abbott's willingness to be a demagogue.
Yet the selfsame individual, Greg Abbott, has requested federal disaster monies for his beloved republic of Texas!
There must be conditions to any federal relief provided to Texas, so that any fears of Texans about the federal government can be assuaged.
Perhaps every person who is employed by any federal disaster relief monies could greet every person they meet with the phrase:
"I'm from the United States Federal Government, and I'm here to help you. People from all over our country have paid taxes that enable me to be here to help you now. I promise not to attempt to take over the state of Texas at this time."
Mr. Abbott must reassign all Texas National Guard units from monitoring Jade Helm 15 to assist in the disaster relief being paid for by the taxpayers of the United States who also pay for most of the equipment and training of the Texas National Guard.
I also call upon you, Congressman Boyle to point out, on the floor of the House of Representatives, how our family's and friends in the Northeast were denied relief for many weeks after Sandy.
You could even ask those who voted against Sandy relief funding how they will vote for Texas assistance.
Here is a handy list of those who voted against Sandy relief.

Use it, humiliate those who denied us aid after a disaster but vote for fair and quick relief for the people of Texas.
One measure of a civilized society is how we treat those of lesser abilities.
Despite the choices that Texans have made at the ballot box they should receive relief from the awful disaster that has befallen them. They are our fellow Americans and deserve no less.
