My turn.
So this is kind of fun: my 10th anniversary at Daily Kos was this month, February 5. Ten years ago I was an instructional designer at the University of Washington, working with instructors to adapt their courses to be taught online. Kind of a yawner. (Though the Construction Safety course in the Construction Management certificate program had some awesome photos of construction site disasters—you wouldn't believe some of the places heavy-equipment operators thought they could take their backhoes.)
My spare time back then was spent on my dial-up computer at home, virtually yelling at Bush and Cheney. Fun times. Never, ever, would it have occurred to me ten years ago today that this is where I'd be now.
Getting paid to virtually yell at politicians.
Today, though, feels a tiny bit like those old dial-up days. Thanks very much to Adobe. You'd think by now a company with as much expertise and which has been around as long as that one would have come up with a fucking flash player that wouldn't detonate the entire Internet when it crashes every other week. So there's a bit of a warning for you—it's been a bad day so far, today's mood decidedly reflects that. Enter at your own risk.
