Why is there so little discussion in the media of the fact that Ferguson MO Police Chief Thomas Jackson has continued to withhold the actual incident report of the shooting of Michael Brown a week ago yesterday? Chief Jackson said that he released the robbery incident report because of a FOIA request, but how could there have been a FOIA request of a robbery that no one knew about until yesterday? As far as I can tell from media coverage, it was the incident report of the shooting that was requested. So if Chief Jackson is so concerned about complying with FOIA requests, why have we not seen the incident report of the shooting? When will we see that incident report? How long will the chief continue to be allowed to withhold that public record from the public?
Thu Aug 21, 2014 at 7:23 PM PT: Breaking on Thurs 8/21 - Lawrence O'Donnell just reported that NO incident report was written by the Ferguson Police Department on the day of the shooting. He had a copy of a report apparently written in response to the ACLU lawsuit, which has no information except Michael Brown's name, the date, and that it was a homicide. Unbelievable!
