Mitt's lies about the auto bailout in Ohio have driven me to write to Senator Lugar and beg him to lead a protest by Republican Party leaders who may still have respect for themselves - e.g Senator Snowe perhaps, Senator Rudman perhaps, Senator Danforth perhaps and so on.
As desperate perhaps as the shuttle craft flare that Mr. Spock shot into the universe in the unlikely event that the Starship Enterprise would see it I wrote the following letter to Senator Lugar.
Dear Senator Lugar,
I am writing to ask you to take a leading role in having like minded self-respecting Republicans call out Mitt Romney for lying to the voters in order to win the election.
Although I am a Democrat I have always had respect for you and the work you do. I don't agree with some of your positions but on the important stuff - like finding a way to send President Marcos packing avoiding a bloody war and working with President Obama on trying to control nuclear proliferation you have shown good judgment and dedication to what's right for the country and the world.
At this point, I am troubled that Governor Romney is now blatantly lying about supporting the auto bailout when he had opposed it from the start.
I don't think it is good for this country to let Governor Romney lie to the voters without being held accountable. I feel that we've had enough problems in this country and it's necessary to heal the wounds. Mitt Romney is not, in my opinion, fit for office as either a Republican or a Democrat.
He diminishes the public debate and disrespects the very people he is trying to fool into voting for him.
Please help.
