With Obama's poll numbers rising seemingly by the hour on both a national and swing-state level, the pundits on the right are going ape-dump crazy trying to convince themselves and their minions that it is all a mirage brought on by a liberal media that wants desperately to so depress conservative voters that they'll stay home on election day, leading to an easy Obama victory.
They've convinced themselves that the pollsters are running with likely voter screens too favorable to the Democrats and that the only pollster worth trusting is Rasmussen who somehow is in sole possession of the formula leading to an accurate portrayal of the race as it truly stands.
To see just how delusional the people on the right are, check out this video of Dick Morris predicting a win in November for Romney by a comfortable margin of 5 or 6 points.
Now here's Karl Rove making virtually the same case:
As I see it, this is what happens when you so divorce yourself from reality that you believe that Noah's Ark is a true story, that dinosaurs co-existed with humans a mere 6,000 years ago and that the world was going to end on May 21, 2011. Facts, science and evidence mean nothing, unreasoning faith becomes your only guide to decision-making, and you are free to make up any vision of the future you desire and call it "reality."
Just not sure what they're going to say to their gullible followers come November 7.
