Cross-posted at Election Inspection
This is the first of two pages meant to show how the states/districts/cities of each candidates' superdelegates voted. Before I get to some commentary on what I believe the importance of this is and the list of Clinton's superdelegates, I'd like to make a few notes (More below the fold)
- This list does not include any superdelegates from states or territories which haven't voted, so there are no superdelegates listed from Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, Oregon, Guam, Puerto Rico, Montana, or South Dakota.
- This list is based on how the districts or states of superdelegates voted, "Strong" states/districts/cities went for either candidate by a margin of greater than 5 points while "Weak" ones were 5 points or less.
- There are some places where I had to make estimations, since some states didn't have a breakdown on district-by-district performances. The states which were estimated were Colorado, New Jersey, and Washington State. On the same token, these states will also be estimated for congressional districts when I create the list for Obama supporters.
- A complete list of superdelegates can be found here.

Election Inspection Analysis: Looking at this list, one thing seems pretty obvious right off the bat, Hillary Clinton is dependent on a large number of superdelegates who are in places which have gone heavily for Obama. Now, I'd be willing to bet money that Clinton supporters would say that it doesn't matter (as my father, who stubbornly supports Clinton, has said himself), but the truth of the matter is that even superdelegates who are that way by virtue of being DNC members are in someway elected. The only exceptions are Distinguished Party Leaders such as Tom Daschle (Former Senate Leader), Al Gore (Former Vice President), Bill Clinton (Former President), etc. Now, does this necessarily mean that most, or even any, of the superdelegates from districts or states which went for Obama will change their superdelegate vote at the convention? Of course not, but then again, Clinton's already had three superdelegates reverse track (in the case of Nancy Larson, she was originially supporting Clinton, but withdrew her support back in February, and then endorsed Obama this week). Clinton supporters should figure out that Clinton is not only having problems attracting new superdelegates, but is likely having problems with trying to keep her own superdelegates from abandoning ship under extremely heavy pressure from the people they're supposed to represent. If Clinton tries to continue past June 3, expect defections from at least 10 of those "Strong Obama" localities.
Update: I might not have made it clear in the diary, but every superdelegate on this list has endorsed Clinton, there are no Obama superdelegates here. I will be making that list in the next couple of days
