Ok, folks, this is gonna be pretty short, but damn if it won't be sweet. In case you haven't heard, two people from the Northeast are fighting over a spot for the Democratic nomination, and the fight has come to Michigan! In all seriousness, I just want to make everyone aware of some upcoming opportunities to get involved, no matter who you're supporting for nominee.
For Bernie Sanders: You'll want to contact Mike Witte - a Bloomfield/Birmingham area Democrat who's Sanders' point man in at least Oakland County, although I'm sure he could help you find local organizers for Sanders. I don't have his contact info right now, but I'll update this post later with the info.
For Hillary Clinton: Here, I have a bit more news. Hillary's point-man for Michigan is Ben Gardner, a Detroit organizer and current state director IIRC, who can be reached at michiganorganizing@hillaryclinton.com. In addition, the campaign will have grassroots organizing meetings in Ann Arbor and Detroit on the 17th and 20th respectively.
The Ann Arbor meeting will be this coming Sunday, May 17th, from 4:30-6:30 PM, at 4800 E Huron River Dr Ann Arbor, MI 48105
The Detroit meeting will be next Wednesday, May 20th, from 6:30-8:00 PM, at the Samaritan Center, which is on 5555 Conner Avenue, Detroit, MI
Just thought y'all would appreciate this PSA which I will update as and when I get more information!
