Good day and welcome to DKos Asheville. This is the weekly DKos Asheville open thread for Saturday, May 8th. We try to get together every weekend to share with everyone what we're all up to in Western North Carolina and beyond. We hope this group and others serve to invigorate us locally and regionally here on Daily Kos, building on the sense of community that's grown through our online engagement. DKos Asheville and other local and state groups can give us all a better sense of connection, a better understanding of who we stand with, work with, and share with. We hope this local and wider community can help leverage our orange passion for progressive politics to elect more and better Democrats.
Please join us below. This is an open thread..
Lake Eden Arts Festival
Spring has come full force to the gorgeous mountains of Western North Carolina and that means festivals! I am entertaining with my small troupe of goofballs on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This festival is easily my favorite of all, an event that stresses community, music, art, healing and everything good.
Please let us know what you are doing over the next few days, political or not. I'll try to post pics when I can from the festival. Have a great weekend and I hope Mothers Day is a wonderful one for all.
Lake Eden Arts Festival (LEAF): Located at a mountain retreat, Camp Rockmont, LEAF is held twice a year in the spring and fall and features music from dozens of national and regionally known musicians as well as crafts, storytelling, drumming, dancing and a healing arts tent.
