Given the increasing appearance of posts like Clear Eyes' from today and MinistryofTruth's from Oct. 10, I've about had it with the bloviating, neo-Confederate racist jackass wastes of oxygen who are willing — nay, eager — to destroy our country because they can't handle the facts that a black man is president (and was re-elected!), and the majority of the country isn't marching in lock-step agreement with them.
We need a clear signal to them, and everyone else, that enough is enough. And Jesse LaGreca has it. From his Oct. 10 diary: "Let me put on my Union Army Kepi..."
They love to wave the Confederate battle flag in our faces. Let's remind them who won that war, and who will win this one: Buy and wear Union Army kepis.
What better way to fight symbols than with symbols? And ours will be subtler than their screaming tantrum and flag-waving, but it will be a potent statement that we, the people, reject them, their attitudes and their platitudes, and a reminder that they, too, will pass into history.
A quick Google trip reveals myriad options for buying a Union Army kepi, at various price points, but if anyone out there knows of a U.S. manufacturer whose caps are of particular note or quality, please put those links in the comments below. I'm hoping to order mine before the day is over, and I'd love to know I'm not alone.
