Sometimes one good deed gives rise to many more good deeds. Here's one such story.
There was a very good deed done for somebody I care about here:
My Sister's Diary
That gift also turned out to be a gift for me. Follow me below the squiggle to see how.
I'm a cancer patient - don't worry I'm in remission and doing well - but I've got a whole new deductible starting up tomorrow. Along with that the house and car insurance are all due soon. Anyway, I wanted to get a Kos lifetime subscription while they were still available but it didn't look possible, because there was somebody else who I wanted to have one more than I wanted one for myself.
My sister really needed the subscription so she could join in the Pootie diaries and photo heavy diaries without locking her computer up. I could only buy one subscription so she was going to get it. But then I saw that she was on the Wish List, so I waited to see what would happen.
My mom gives money at Christmas, but I really needed a pair of warm boots to get through the winter. I had tall boots but when I wear them they seem to set off my neuropathy, so I really wanted to get a pair of short ones.
Then everything fell into place. I got the boots at a tremendous sale. Some wonderful members of this community bought a subscription for Sis, and I found out that small donors could do a lot. My husband said to throw caution to the wind and buy myself a subscription, that we could cover it. And I still had $40 left from the money Mom gave me and since I had seen what small donors could do I decided to be one of those small ripples on the stream.
I came for the politics. Right now I'm crying happy tears, thankful for the community.
UPDATE: The ripples continue:
