As I continue on my roadtrip of potentially competitive Senate Races, I will now stop to explain my project. I will first go through the Senate Races that Republicans hold that may be able to be taken. I will then go through the defense Senate Races. Finally, I may go to the governorships after that.
So far we have had:
Senate 2010: Ohio
Senate 2010: Kentucky
I have also found this handy PPP link about the races.
If fate continues, Democrats will win this seat in 2010 (and lose it in 2016). This seat has traded parties since the legendary Sam Ervin retired in the year 1974. Lets hope fate has one more cycle.
Senator Richard Burr is the GOP incumbent...
Brad Miller: Mt first choice for the seat, Congressman Miller was elected to a fourth term last Tuesday. He in number 100/435 in terms of Progressive voting Record.
Mike Easley: If the outgoing Governor runs, we'll "Easley" pick up this seat. (sorry, couldn't resist)
Dan Blue: The Former State House Speaker could try to make another run for the Senate.
Elaine Marshall: Another former Senate candidate, this Secretary of State could capitalize on Kay Hagan's win and make NC the only southern state with an all female Senate Delegation.
Jim Neal: After losing this year to Kay Hagan in the primaries, he may want another go at the Senate.
Roy Cooper: The state Attorney General, he won a huge reelection this fall.
Jim Hunt Jr.: The former 4 term Governor would certainly be a viable candidate. He may be tapped for Education Secretary, though.
Update: Forgot Heath Shuler. Vote "other" in the poll if you want him.
