McCain's connection of Shia dominated Iran with Sunni dominated Al-Qaida was no misstatement.
Not only did McCain voice this fundamental misunderstanding of the Iraq situation twice in Jordan and on Hugh Hewitt but he did it on Feb 28th at the Baker Institute for Public Policy in Houston.

This isn't an isolated incident where a confused McCain mixes up a few words. It isn't a case of mis-speak. This is another example of wrong-headed Republican thinking concerning the actual situation in Iraq.
This is supposed to be the guy with "decades" of foreign policy experience?
Now if only the press will cover what a candidate actually is saying rather than what someone else other than the candidate is saying.
Somehow I doubt they will.
