The US Chamber of Commerce has dropped at least 3 mail pieces into PA over the past 4 days, a pro-Jim Gerlach piece, a pro-Santorum piece and a hit job on Lois Murphy. The funny thing is that 2 of 3 have NO paid for disclaimer at all and all 3 are missing the "Not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee" notice.
Happy to have some help from Kossack election law legal-eagles on the implications of what sure looks to me like illegal mail pieces from the US Chamber of Commerce. I'm also most curious if anyone can track down whether or not the Chamber as an entity is over the line in making expenditures to influence a federal election (a very brief perusal of their Web site didn't turn up anything definitive).

Here is the pro-Santorum piece and
here is the anti-Lois piece. I unfortunately neglected to scan the pro-Gerlach piece before delivering it to Lois Murphy's campaign manager for possible FEC action.
I've also sent the Santorum image to the local county Party HQ to forward to the Casey campaign, sent both in LTE's to the Philadelphia Inquirer on the slim chance that they'll actually look into it and sent them off to our best buddy on TV, the inscrutable Keith Olbermann.
Oh, and btw, the "Jobs are Our Business" tag-line on the hit piece is rather humorous - in a disgusting kind of way - given the reality of the the worst jobs record in over 40 years of the Chamber's main man, GWB.
