Here's my reply to a blast request for nomination petition circulators from Ed Rendell's re-election campaign manager, Patricia Enright:
Patricia,
After the Governor's announcement of his support for the confirmation of a right-wing supreme court justice, primarily it seems because his wife works with him and thinks he's an ok guy, I would rather stick myself multiple times with a large sewing needle than go out and collect signatures.
Perhaps Governor Rendell can atone for this, excuse me, imbecilic, behavior by figuring out how to get in front of the GOP caucus and actively support legislation that would ensure an auditable paper trail and mandatory random audits of Commonwealth elections and a formula for equitable contribution to the economic and intellectual future of Pennsylvania - which, by the way would not include a sales tax increase.
Upon seeing serious activity on these issues perhaps I could manage to include his literature when I and members of my grassroots group canvass for progressive candidates in the spring and fall.
Best regards,
Joe Magid
