  •  I don't think (0+ / 0-)

Jepsen will retire. Bysiewicz might primary him (though that would burn a lot of bridges with the party bigwigs), or she could run for congress whenever Rosa DeLauro retires. I suspect that won't be for a while, since Rosa's a popular congresswoman who has that seat as long as she wants it. The only way that seat is opening up within the near future is if Rosa is picked as Secretary of Labor (she'd make a great one, BTW).  If that happens, New Haven Mayor John DeStefano, State Senator Martin Looney, State Rep. Gary Holder-Winfield, and Ted Kennedy Jr. will be the frontrunners. I think Susan would be pounded in the primary by any one of them. Her chances of winning a major race have been permanently damaged.

    •  Adam was joking (3+ / 0-)

Bysiewicz dropped out of the CT-Gov primary in '10 and tried running for AG instead, claiming that her time as SoS counted as practicing law. The courts disagreed. So she dropped out of a primary she had a decent chance of winning to a half-baked attempt at an office she wasn't legally qualified to run for. Just an example of her political skills.
