I tuned in to watch Keith Olbermann on Comcast's Channel 107 in Houston on Monday and got bad interference.
Namely: intermittent sound interruption, picture interference with little distorted boxes of color and every few seconds a second or so of black screen.
I called Comcast to complain and found that others had called in on this as well. I called Comcast again the next day to complain and someone in Mexico checked my area in Houston and said it was an outage that would be fixed in 4 to 8 hours. hmmmm......
Tonight i tuned in and from the start there are 3 or 4 seconds of black screen for every second of good picture and sound. At one point my screen said that we were not authorized to get this station (which is nonsense).
I hate Comcast. They have become more and more vertically controlled out of the head office and they seem to tell their workers information on a need to know basis and they seem to think they need to know very little.
The people who work for them are pleasant but I no longer can reach the "knowledgable" managers who used to be available to answer questions of a more than rudimentary nature. IMO they keep their employees in the dark maybe intentionally.
(e.g. an old but still good tv started having constant interference a few months back. The problem was the cable box was Hi Def and my tv could only receive 480 resolution (?) not over 1000- I may be misstating this and would welcome the correct wording from someone more knowledgable than me on electronics.
Instead of the cable guy telling me to replace the hi def box with a digital box, he said to throw away the tv. I made many calls to Comcast and to Mitsubishi till I found out why this was happening. I knew the tv was ok because the screen worked fine for watching a DVD and for the PIP feature.)
I no longer have access to a specialist in one area or another who knows something about what's going on with their company.
